Role Description The Civil Engineer will work on-site in Karbala, Iraq in a full-time capacity, contributing to the design, planning, and execution of civil and industrial engineering projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing technical drawings and specifications, conducting site visits and inspections, and coordinating with project managers, architects, and other engineers to ensure project requirements are met. The role involves overseeing construction activities for compliance with design, safety standards, and local regulations, as well as assisting with cost estimates, schedules, and resource planning. The Civil Engineer will also help resolve technical issues on-site, support quality assurance processes, and prepare project reports and documentation. Collaboration with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams is expected to maintain project timelines and deliverables. Qualifications • Candidates should possess strong civil engineering fundamentals, including structural analysis, materials knowledge, and familiarity with construction methods. • Candidates should possess proficiency in relevant engineering and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, civil design tools) and basic computer skills for documentation and reporting. • Candidates should possess good project coordination abilities, including planning, scheduling, and monitoring progress against milestones. • Candidates should possess effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and clients. • Candidates should possess strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with attention to detail and a focus on safety and quality. • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field is preferred; relevant certifications or local professional registration are an advantage. • Previous experience in construction, industrial facilities, or infrastructure projects is beneficial, especially within Iraq or similar environments. • Ability to work on-site in Karbala, adapt to field conditions, and comply with company and regulatory safety standards is required.
