Job description: Job Title: Assistant Technician. Company: SAS- Toyota Dealer.Location: Baghdad About the Job: Assistant Technician provides support to certified automotive technicians. This role involves assisting with vehicle inspections, maintenance, repairs, and other technical tasks under the supervision and guidance of experienced automotive professionals. The  Assistant Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of the automotive service department and delivering high-quality service to customers. Tasks & Responsibilities: • Assist certified technicians in performing vehicle inspections, including visual inspections, test drives, and diagnostic tests to identify mechanical or electrical issues. • Learn to use diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and computer software to retrieve trouble codes, analyze data, and diagnose vehicle problems accurately. • Support technicians in performing routine maintenance services, such as oil changes, tire rotations, fluid flushes, and filter replacements, according to manufacturer recommendations. • Assist with minor repairs and component replacements, such as brake pads, spark plugs, belts, and hoses, following established procedures and safety guidelines. • Assist in maintaining inventory levels of automotive parts, tools, and supplies, ensuring      adequate stock for service and repair jobs. • Retrieve parts from inventory, prepare components for installation, and restock inventory shelves as needed. • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including service bays, toolboxes, and equipment, to ensure a safe and efficient working environment. • Dispose of waste materials and used parts properly, following environmental and safety regulations. • Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner, aiding, answering questions, and relaying information about vehicle service and repair needs. • Communicate effectively with service advisors, technicians, and other team members to coordinate workflow, prioritize tasks, and ensure timely completion of service jobs. • Adhere to safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace. Job Requirements: • Diploma or technical certification in Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in automotive maintenance and repair. • Good knowledge of vehicle mechanical and electrical systems. • Ability to perform inspection, diagnosis, preventive maintenance, and repair work. • Ability to use diagnostic tools and workshop equipment properly. • Basic understanding of workshop safety procedures and standards. • Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards. • Willingness to learn and attend technical training as required. • A valid driving license is preferred. • English language proficiency at an upper-intermediate level is required
