Storm Company is Hiring – Access Network Technician/Engineer Department: Network Operations Reports to: NOC / Network Operations Lead Level: Access Layer Support Location: Baghdad, Iraq Role Summary The Access Network Technician / Engineer operates and maintains the access layer of Storm Network’s ISP infrastructure. The role covers edge MikroTik devices, wireless backhaul and distribution links, and PPPoE subscribers, ensuring that devices are provisioned according to approved standards and remain reachable for NOC monitoring. Key Responsibilities • Install and configure MikroTik devices, including CCR / RouterBOARD, using the approved provisioning template. • Configure and verify Users, IP Services, SNMP, Queues, NAT, and RADIUS settings. • Monitor active PPP sessions and troubleshoot subscriber outages. • Diagnose authentication failures, “peer not responding” errors, and sessions stuck in a disconnected (D) state without a running (R) state. • Install, align, and maintain wireless links, including Mimosa C5c / B11, airFiber, and MikroTik 912. • Perform IP configuration, signal optimization, antenna alignment, and hardware replacement. • Verify device configurations using internal audit tools such as the “Check” tool and correct minor deviations from the approved standard. • Carry out NOC instructions on site, including CPE reboots, cable and port testing, and firmware upgrades when requested. • Document links and devices accurately in the management system, including Links / Servers. • Report faults with clear and precise technical details. Requirements • Hands-on experience with MikroTik WinBox and RouterOS, including PPP, Queues, NAT, and basic Firewall. • Solid understanding of PPPoE and RADIUS from the NAS side. AAA design experience is not required. • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, and wireless fundamentals, including dBm and SNR. • Ability to work in the field and coordinate effectively with the team.
