Job Title: Local Process Designer Location: Basra, Iraq - WQ1 Experience Required: Minimum 5 to 10 years post grad work experience in engineering consultancy or EPC Company within the Oil/Gas industry. Job responsibilities: • Analyze Business Processes: Review existing workflows to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement. • Gather Requirements: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand process needs, objectives, and constraints. • Design Process Models: Develop detailed process maps and diagrams using tools like BPMN, flowcharts, or other modeling techniques. • Develop Process Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation including process descriptions, procedures, and guidelines. • Identify Optimization Opportunities: Propose enhancements to streamline operations, reduce costs, and improve quality. • Implement Process Changes: Assist in deploying new or revised processes, ensuring smooth transition and adoption. • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work with IT, operations, quality, and other departments to ensure process integration. • Monitor and Measure Performance: Establish KPIs and metrics to evaluate process performance post implementation. • Continuous Improvement: Regularly review processes for ongoing optimization and adapt to changing business needs. • Maintain Process Documentation: Keep all process models and documentation up to date reflecting any changes. • Develop efficient, scalable, and compliant business processes aligned with organizational goals. • Contribute to achieving higher quality, faster turnaround times, and cost savings Skills and Experience: • Minimum 5 to 10 years post grad work experience in engineering consultancy or EPC Company within the Oil/Gas industry. • Software Skills: Proficiency in CAD tools, process simulation software, and document management systems. • Process Engineering Expertise: Strong understanding of process design principles, process simulation, and optimization techniques. • Project Knowledge: Experience in modifying, upgrading, or revamping existing facilities while minimizing downtime and ensuring safety. • Process Simulation & Modeling: Proficiency with tools such as HYSYS, Aspen Plus, or PRO/II for process modeling and analysis. • Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID): Ability to develop and review detailed P&IDs for brownfield modifications. • Safety & Compliance: Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., API, ASME, OSHA) and safety protocols relevant to existing facilities. • Project Management Skills: Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute process design tasks within project timelines and budgets. • Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills to identify issues and develop effective solutions during modifications. • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Experience working with mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and civil teams. • Documentation & Reporting: Skilled in preparing technical reports, design documents, and review of vendor drawings. • Regulatory & Safety Compliance: Experience ensuring modifications meet environmental, safety, and operational standards. • Operational Knowledge: Understanding plant operations to ensure design modifications are practical and sustainable. • Vendor & Contractor Coordination: Experience working with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers during design and implementation phases. • Risk Management: Ability to identify potential risks associated with modifications and develop mitigation strategies. • Documentation & Change Management: Familiarity with changing management processes and maintaining accurate documentation for modifications.
