Data Science and AI Specialist

The National Bank of Iraq is seeking a talented and analytical Data Science & AI Specialist to support the Bank’s data-driven transformation initiatives by developing advanced analytical models, generating actionable insights, and contributing to the implementation of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning solutions. The successful candidate will play a key role in transforming data into valuable business insights, developing predictive models, and supporting decision-making processes across the organization. This position requires a strong analytical mindset, technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Data Analysis & Preparation • Collect, process, and prepare data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy, quality, and readiness for analysis. • Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities within complex datasets. • Ensure data integrity and adherence to data quality standards throughout the analytical lifecycle. Data Science & Machine Learning • Design, develop, and implement machine learning models and predictive analytics solutions to support business objectives. • Select and apply appropriate algorithms for classification, prediction, clustering, and other analytical use cases. • Improve model performance through feature engineering, hyperparameter tuning, and optimization techniques. • Evaluate model effectiveness using appropriate performance metrics and validation methodologies. Model Deployment & Monitoring • Support the deployment and integration of analytical models into operational environments. • Monitor model performance and identify issues such as model drift or degradation. • Recommend enhancements and improvements to maintain model accuracy and reliability over time. Reporting & Business Insights • Develop analytical reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate insights effectively. • Present findings, recommendations, and analytical outcomes to business stakeholders and management. • Support informed decision-making through data-driven analysis and actionable recommendations. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement • Work closely with business, technology, and data teams to understand requirements and develop analytical solutions. • Document methodologies, models, assumptions, and analytical findings. • Stay current with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Advanced Analytics. Qualifications Education • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field. Experience • a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, or a related field.
