Move faster. Deliver value. JOB TITLE: COUNTRY MANAGER This is a residential role based in Basra, Iraq and ability to speak Arabic is required. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Lead end-to-end business development activities in Iraq, from opportunity identification through to contract award. • Develop and execute a country’s growth strategy, aligned with Asset Solutions’ regional objectives. • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities across IOC/NOC operators and government-led projects. • Identify market entry routes, including partnerships, JV structures, and local alliances. • Support proposals, bid strategy, pricing positioning, and commercial negotiations. • Act as primary interface with government ministries, regulatory bodies, and national oil companies (e.g., Ministry of Oil, Basra Oil Company, North Oil Company). • Build strong relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, and partners across Iraq. • Navigate local regulatory, political, and commercial environments to enable smooth business operation. • Establish and maintain long-term relationships with key clients and operators. • Position CB&I’s full service offering across Integrated Services, Wells, Engineering and Operations & Maintenance. • Ensure strong client intelligence and account planning for priority clients • Lead high-level negotiations and contract discussions • Establish and oversee CB&I’s local presence in Iraq, including office setup (if required), local partnerships, and representation. • Support mobilization of awarded projects, working closely with regional delivery teams. • Ensure alignment between BD commitments and operational execution capability. • Provide local market insight, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies to leadership. • Ensure full compliance with Indian regulatory frameworks and CB&I’s global standards. • Lead from the front on HSE culture, emergency preparedness, and operational risk management. • Maintain robust quality systems, internal controls, and audit processes. • Drive accountability for incident reporting, learning, and prevention. • Ensure full compliance with Indian regulatory frameworks and CB&I’s global standards. • Lead from the front on HSE culture, emergency preparedness, and operational risk management. • Maintain robust quality systems, internal controls, and audit processes. • Drive accountability for incident reporting, learning, and prevention. • Must have a strong focus on risk and compliance management processes. • excellent safety leadership and awareness in all aspects of operations • people skills relating to resource management • an aptitude for working with clients, regulatory authorities and with other key stakeholders such as joint venture partners • Awareness of local politics, regime and regulatory requirement. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: • Deep understanding of country-level strategies, in-country operation, and compliance with local laws and practices. • Strong management skills for hiring and overseeing administrative/support staff. • Ability to analyze and make recommendations from market intelligence. • Effective communicator capable of coordinating with multiple stakeholders, including clients, regulators, vendors and subcontractors. • Excellent team player with proven track record of leadership . • Competent and comfortable working with auditors, regulatory bodies, external verifiers. • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to share information / knowledge with other personnel. • Industry experience desirable in a range of technical, supervisory and management roles. • Commercially and legally aware with well-developed business skills to maximize delivery of client and stakeholder KPI’s. • Delivery focused encompassing behaviors aligned with CB&I and Client objectives and values. • Ability to speak Arabic is required.
