Data Center Engineer

Job Summary: The Data Center Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and management of backup power systems within the data center environment including power, cooling, generators, uptime tiers, network, fiber optics, and fire detection systems This role ensures that generator systems are operational and capable of providing uninterrupted power during outages or fluctuations, thereby maintaining the availability and reliability of the data center infrastructure. Statement Of Duties: 1- Operation management • Responsible for the supervision and maintain electrical and instrument technicians in their daily activities and during the execution period. • Perform troubleshooting by checking all wiring loop connections from field devices to the instrument junction box through the marshaling cabinet/rack to ensure that all the connections meet the safety standards and conducting technical analysis requirements during commission. • Supervise the e&i construction and installation of equipment and support instrument devices, cable ladder/tray, fire, and gas, telecommunication, tubing lighting, electrical, and instrument panel. • Install cable tray, ladder, and support • Preparing the daily reporting of activities including the fiber cut, racks, switch installation, and the things that belong • Check out and install the inverters and ups at sites. • Prompt response to network damages and contacting at any time to fix the damages up • Keep liaising with management regarding the suggestions and designs As, DB, MDB, and plc installation and power equipment. • Responsible for the site acceptance that must be equivalent to the site standards which are issued by the data center manager Responsible for the rest team gear up as safeties and team quality. • Responsible for site health check starting from the generator and ending with devices PS, PDU, and components • Responsible for the inspection and the handover with third parties or the local team • Responsible for the delta, grounding earthing system. • Supporting the other technical departments to achieve the standardization achievement • Supervision all the other department actions and activities to check the site's quality and standard • Daily periodic maintenance of the facility infrastructure including the cooling system and the network devices • Responsible for uninterruptable unit configuration. • Find out the optimum solutions to achieve perfection of (Civil, Mechanical, Electricity, and Passive networks. • Generators health check and gas level for data center feeder. 2- Client Management: • Optimize the reliability of equipment and infrastructure. • Ensure that equipment and infrastructure are always in good condition. • Carry out prompt emergency repair of equipment and infrastructure to secure the best possible availability for the enterprise. • Enhance, through modifications, extensions, or new low-cost items, the productivity of existing equipment or production capacity. • Improve operational safety. • Enhancing and supporting other departments with power, cooling sys issues, and new equipment installation - • Core quality systemization. • Daily commitment activities. • Generator health check. • Service level agreement with third-party vendors regarding the data center components • Keep the passive structure in optimum condition as false ceiling, raised floor, lighting, operational devices, delta, coppers, circuit breakers, aviation light, busbars, ups, fire suppression, roxtec, precision. Qualifications and Education Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. • 3-5 years of experience in generator maintenance, power systems, or data center operations. • Experience with diesel generators, ATS, UPS, and other backup power systems. • Language skills: English. 3- Preferred Skills & Key Competencies • High level of attention to detail and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work independently and respond quickly to emergency situations. • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members and external vendors. • Good communication skills, especially when explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. • Test Planning and Strategy • Test Case Design • Test Execution • Test Automation and Automation Frameworks is preferable • Regression Testing
