Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Basra. The DCS DeltaV, SIS, Programming, Maintenance, Engineering professional will design, configure, and program DeltaV-based control systems and associated SIS logic for process plants. Daily activities include developing control strategies, creating and testing system graphics, performing system integration, and supporting commissioning and startup. The role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, executing preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, and ensuring system reliability and compliance with safety standards. The engineer will collaborate with operations, maintenance, and project teams, prepare technical documentation, and support training efforts for client personnel. Participation in site visits, operational support, and ongoing system improvements is expected. Qualifications • Strong competencies in DCS (preferably Emerson DeltaV) configuration, programming, and system integration. • Experience with Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), including safety logic design, verification, and functional testing. • Knowledge of industrial automation, process control, and instrumentation principles in oil & gas or process industries. • Ability to perform system diagnostics, troubleshooting, and maintenance of control panels, I/O modules, networks, and related hardware. • Familiarity with control system lifecycle activities, including FAT/SAT, commissioning, startup, and ongoing operational support. • Proficiency in technical documentation, including cause and effect matrices, control narratives, and maintenance procedures. • Relevant engineering degree in Electrical, Control, Instrumentation, or related field, or equivalent practical experience. • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work safely on industrial sites and follow HSE guidelines. • Willingness to be based on-site in Basra and support occasional extended hours during critical project phases. • Experience providing or supporting technical training on DCS/SIS systems is an advantage.
